What If Atheists Went Door To Door Looking For Converts

It might look something like this:

Thanks Reza for the link.

Christians and Muslims go out of their way to try to get people to believe their nonsense. Jews don't. Atheists sometimes go out of their way to get people to accept facts like evolution and an ancient earth and universe. I'm content when people don't reject fact in order to maintain a literal book of myths. It doesn't matter to me if someone believes in God, as long as they don't reject science to do so. I'm all about evidence.

Happy Turkey Day to all my American readers. And thank you for being Canada's defense department.

  1. That’s a great video; I especially like the part where he quotes the XTC song, “Dear God”.
Beepbeepitsme has the entire transcript of the video here.

  3. I believe in balancing religion and science. It doesn't have to be one or the other. It can be both.

  4. I get a kick out of Christian evangelists when they say they are going to spread the word about Christ. Spread the word about Christ? Who is Christ? What are churches? Who'd know without them?

    Regards.

  5. It's perfect. I'm going to give a 110% effort towards converting the next missionaries that show up here to my own newly founded Church of Nothing.

I WAS just going to pee on their feet and have my husband explain I am mentally ill when the police arrive but I'll give conversion a go.

  6. I arrived home from an outing last weekend to find two Jehovah's Witnesses on my doorstep. I had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide! Thankfully, they just gave me their pamphlet and went away. Maybe it was my icy-cold stare that did the trick.

  7. Am I the only one here who enjoys a mormon at my door? When it happens, I invite them in, have (non-alcoholic) drinks, and a nice healthy debate... something no Jew can turn down :)

In their defense, I have never seen a converter who wasn't the nicest, best dressed, most polite individual you can ever ask for. Considering they take more rejection than a vacuum cleaner salesman, you have to give them some credit.

But I do agree that there should be a 12pm - 6pm time range. I also wish they would be less aggressive on Jews, Bahai, and other small religiouns that don't proseletize.

  8. Yes, there should be punishment for BAJ for posting this on his blog when it is also on mine.

    Bacon sandwiches for everyone! ;)

  9. This guy is Australian. He made a series of documentaries called "In Search of God". It's the funniest series you'll ever see. My favorite episode is when he is applying to join the KKK and asks if they allow Jews to join, you should see their reaction when he admits he's a Jew.

  10. Sorry, I meant to say "John Safran vs God" as the name of the TV series. Not sure if it's available online.

  11. Yeah Safron is a funny guy. He came to prominence when he won a TV game show based on traveling around the world making insane videos.
