A few blogs worth looking at

I've been blogging for over a year now, so even though I feel like an ancient blogger, I'm really still a novice. But a found a couple of blogs made by "rookies" that are definitely worth checking out.

First I want to recommend Beep Beep's blog. She has been blogging since November from Downunder. She digs up lots of interesting stuff that any Atheist or Agnostic will enjoy reading. Mixing current issues, with history and then adding her excellent wit, her blog is one of my favorites. Escapee from the Meme Machine is another blog I like to visit. Lya has been blogging since August, and many of her posts are personal and introspective.

Now for the real rookies.

My Case Against God is a blog that just started this month and is already getting rave reviews amongst some of the most well known Atheists in the blogosphere. Francesthemagnificent is one of those dudes who is noticeably smart and comes at you from left field and so far he has had the affect of not only making me think more but also opening up my eyes even wider. Which is quite a feat, since us Atheists already have our eyes wide open.

And the other rookie, sitting at paltry 99 visitors at the time of this writing is God's Loyal Opposition. The guy who writes this is a student in Bahrain. He just started in March, and I have read his posts so far, and they are hysterical. Plus he has the perspective of living in a Muslim country going for him. I'm sure if he sticks with it, his blog is going to become extremely popular soon.

I knew these two rookies were perceptive when they blogrolled me immediately. It shows how sharp they are. I'll mention a third rookie, the Recovering Ortho Jew, who has the potential to debunk the entire Old Testament if he keeps going along his sordid path. He scared me recently when he said he reverted back to a believer for Purim.

Ok, so here we have it, a rookie poster who is smarter than me, and another who is funnier than me. At least I still have my good looks..... Alright, I can admit I'm not the best, I have that going for me, my humility that is. And besides, the dumbest Atheist is smarter than the most intelligent Fundy. In fact my Border Collie Daisy is as smart as the average Fundy. Anyways, I'm OK, I have my niche.

PRAYER DOESN'T WORK, OR IS GOD JUST HAVING ANOTHER SNOOZE

Dang nabbit, those pesky scientists keep trying to find evidence that God exists, and can never find a gosh darn thing.

Distant prayer has no effect on patients

'BOSTON, March 30 (UPI) -- A U.S. study of heart bypass patients finds that distant prayer had no measurable effect on their recovery.

In the study, 1,800 patients having surgery at six hospitals were divided into three groups. One group was told they would be prayed for, while the other two were told they might be, The Washington Post reported.

Groups of Catholics and Protestants were recruited to pray for the group of patients who had been told they would be the beneficiaries of prayers and for one of the other groups, mentioning the patients specifically by first name and last initial. There was no measurable difference between the groups who were not sure, while the patients who knew they were prayer targets had a slightly higher complication rate.

The study was published in the American Heart Journal.'
******************************
Those who knew they were being prayed for had a higher incidence of complications. Was the pressure of knowing they were being prayed for hard on the heart? Did they scoff and the treatment knowing that they had cheerleaders praying for them? Why would God let this happen at a time when more and more people are doubting him, and some are even laughing their asses off at him, and his flock of believers?

Maybe God doesn't do heart disease.
Maybe the John Templeton Foundation can spend another 2.4 million dollars to see if prayer to God can make amputees grow back limbs. I'd be betting on a zero % growth rate, and I'm sure even the most hardcore Fundies would be expecting that too. But if God is up there, he should be able to make at least one limb grow back. C'mon, it's God. God can do anything.......................if he existed.

How the study was performed.

Thanks to Rubin for the heads up. I'll also give credit to those who posted this story ahead of me: SerandEz, Tammy Bruce, NoGodBlog,
and Boing Boing who adds "maybe they were praying to the wrong God."

JEW WORLD DOMINATION: WHO'S NUMBER ONE?

Who? Who? Who?

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?FORM=TOOLBR&q=jew%20world%20domination

Somebody found my site yesterday doing an MSN search for "jew world domination." And my blog appeared as the number one match. Now I know I'm being monitored by him, so I have to watch my step, since my secret is out.

I'm not in the top 10 for the Yahoo or Google search of "jew world domination" yet, but I figure if I type jew world domination a few times I will climb up in those respective search engines. Oh what the heck, jew world domination, like Brittney say, oops I did it again.

For now on, I will have to use a different code when sending my secret cryptic messages to Organized Jewry Headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Proud to be a Canadian: We Don't Support Terrorists

"Canada said Wednesday it was suspending assistance to the Palestinian Authority because the new Hamas-led government refuses to renounce violence and recognize Israel. Hamas responded that Ottawa's decision was hasty and unfair."

Of course the whiney pathetic Palestinians are going to cry like babies. They always do. They always make the wrong choice. They voted Hamas, they might as well voted in Al Qaeda. They were given fair warning that the West does not support TERROR.

This makes me really proud and happy: "CANADA has become the first state to announce a boycott of the new Hamas administration, announcing an end to diplomatic contacts and a freeze on annual aid worth $A29.5 million."

Cutting diplomatic ties to terrorists and not giving them aid is a no brainer. Yet the Far Left Libs (I smell skunk just typing that) and many Arabs will cry "but they are a democracy." Sorry, it may have been a democratic vote (the terrorist lovers spoke), but the result is a tyrannical leadership bent on the destruction of a civilized state. An entity with such a goal, is NO DEMOCRACY.

MORE PROOF THAT FUNDIES ARE RETARDED/DISHONEST

I'm still having fun making a mockery out of Fundies on Vox's comment board. They are so easy to humiliate, but I don't even think they realize it.

Here is a conversation with Vox's wife Spacebunny. It reminds me of a Monty Python skit. She is a typical retareded/dishonest Fundy. The premise is that these imbeciles say that morality stems from the word of God and isn't relative. I said Atheists have morality just like anyone else. Morality is based on sympathy, not the word of God. I'm asking her for HER definition of morality and to give me some examples.

I find it extremely amusing how those who claim to be "just as moral" as Christians are the ones frothing at the mouth and swearing. Very convincing boys.

Spacebunny, in your own words define morality and give examples of it. No real answer expected.

Oh and you mocking me is like a Down's child mocking Einstein.

Your lack of understanding and intelligence doesn't surprise me. Vox is pretty smart, and opposites do attract. My wife is limited intellectually too.
The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 11:19 am | #

I already defined morality for you.
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 11:50 am | #

My point is and always has been not about the definition of morality but what you base yours on. Evolution - dismissed several times here and other places. Your own sympathies?! Please, that moral relativism which IIRC you said you were not a moral relativist. Your arguments (if one can call them that) have been nothing but red herrings, straw men and ad hominens. Very convincing. I shall change my thinking at once.
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 11:55 am | #

Spacebunny you dodged my question again as expected.

I don't remember seeing your definition or examples.

Lets see them, or did you forget what you supposedly wrote?

Thanks for proving me right.
The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 12:05 pm | #

You only recently asked for my personal definition after I gave you what you originally asked for which was a definition of morality. How do you know that I don't go by the dictionary definition? I don't play the game of moving goal posts you seem to be so fond of.
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 12:07 pm | #

Answer my question Spacebunny. What is morality and give me a few examples.

You can cut and paste the answer you supposedly gave, because I saw nothing out from your own words.
The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 12:08 pm | #

I don't know how you define morality because you won't answer me directly.
I am asking for examples. Lets hear them.
The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 12:09 pm | #

You rode the little yellow bus to school didn't you?
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 12:13 pm | #

Wow, another insult but still no answer.

LMAOAY

What is your definition of morality and give me some examples?
The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 12:15 pm | #

I gave you my definition, like I said, I don't play the game of moving goal posts like you seem to enjoy so much. Nor the cherry picking you are so fond of doing yourself, but accuse everyone else of doing.
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 12:15 pm | #

Give me the defintion again please and give me examples. Lets pretend you didn't give me the answer previously because I don't recall you doing so.

It is obvious that you are purposely not answering the question. It leads me to believe that you don't have a definiton of morality nor can you give examples.

It makes me lead to believe I am debating with someone who is either completely dishonest or someone with severe brain damage.

I knew you wouldn't answer me. How did I know that? HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM
The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 12:20 pm | #

Wow, another insult but still no answer.

This from the guy who took more than 200 posts to answer a question (and he got it wrong) but who has had an insult directed towards me or some other poster in practically every post he's written. I guess you really do live in your own little world of moral relativism. How very shocking.
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 12:21 pm | #

Give me the defintion again please and give me examples. Lets pretend you didn't give me the answer previously because I don't recall you doing so.

It is obvious that you are purposely not answering the question. It leads me to believe that you don't have a definiton of morality nor can you give examples.

Unlike you I don't play the game of "Let's pretend" if you can't keep up with the discussion (no surprise there) or can't be bothered to go back and find it, why on earth should I do it for you?
Spacebunny | 03.29.06 - 12:23 pm | #

Spacebunny you don't have to go back since you don't move the goalposts. Just answer the question again. One more time, and I promise not to ask again.

What is your definition of morality and give me some examples?

No honest answer expected, only insults.

Looks like I snared one with my Fundy trap at least.

BEAJ:Answer me one question. Do Catholics and Baptists share the same EXACT moral beliefs?

FUNDY LARRY: Of course not. Why should they, while informed by grace and divine revelation, there is still room for human freedom in the interpretation and application. God is not a tyrant, and our knowledge of him is necessarily incomplete.
*******************************
BEAJ: Thank you for admitting that MORALITY IS RELATIVE.

The Atheist Jew | Homepage | 03.29.06 - 12:47 pm | #

Larry will spin my answer, but it doesn't matter, I won.
