My Blog: Where To Go From Here?

I've been blogging for a few years now, and I have noticed that the dates between my posts are starting to lengthen. I'm at a stage right now where I've basically stated all the points that make me a solid atheist, over and over on this blog. More importantly, I'm noticing that the secular cause is winning big time throughout the West (the West that matters anyway: Canada and the USA). There is almost little need to push for the secular cause (total separation of church and state), because the courts get it, and even the governments are getting it.

Sure, there are still isolated situations that need to be ironed out or corrected, like certain hick state school boards that still try to get fantasy taught in schools. But for the most part, I think the population is grudgingly accepting the difference between faith and fact.

Back to my blogging. Yeah, I can still write about these isolated situations, but they don't infuriate me like they used to, because, as stated above, they are coming close to extinction because common sense is prevailing. From prayer in government to creation being taught in secular schools to the issue of gay marriage, whacked out religious influence is slowly leaving with its tail tucked between its legs.

I can still write about the fact that there is absolutely no contemporary evidence that Jesus lived or the Exodus happened. But how many times do I need to do it? I'm still open to evidence, but I'll tell you, the Exodus for sure isn't looking probable at all. There is a lot of evidence that make it impossible. From my standpoint right now, it is almost as improbable as the farcical Ark story. As for Jesus, I guess there could have been a Jesus, or even 9 or 10 Jesus', but the lack of evidence makes me conclude that the Jesus that we read about was at best an invention of Paul (a dream God) who morphed into a real person over a few decades shortly thereafter.
In fact, the beginnings or roots of all religions are based on unreal, unverifiable stories and myths, which is really the only way to go, if any religion has a chance to be followed by the masses.

I guess I can still go after the multiple writers, and now Youtubers, who try to prove God or try to make the idiotic case that atheism is a "faulty world view." But has become somewhat boring. I have found that I have become automated in my rebuttals because there isn't an argument I haven't heard over and over, and the arguments are too easily destroyed by now.

I can also give pats on the back to atheists who make profound statements, but again, I've seen all the arguments for atheism, and I get it, and there isn't much to learn, except maybe new evidences about specific cultures or biological discoveries into our psyche that make us prone to believe in the supernatural. But philosophical arguments for atheism just make me yawn now.

Scientific discoveries in evolution have always been a favorite of mine to blog about, but I just don't have enough of a scientific background to feel comfortable focusing on them.

I get back into the swing of things and blog against the biggest threat to mankind today: Islam (yeah yeah yeah, "radical Islam," whatever.). But lots of blogs specialize in that already.

I still my forte is mocking religion and beliefs, and to enjoy those who mock religion and beliefs. My blog has always been on the edge when it comes to that already, so probably that is route I will go from here.
To me, the purpose of life (mine anyway) is to laugh as much as I can before I croak.

Hagee's Apology Shows True Nature Of Religious Contradiction

"Then god sent a hunter. A hunter is someone with a gun and he forces you. Hitler was a hunter. And the Bible says -- Jeremiah writing -- 'They shall hunt them from every mountain and from every hill and from the holes of the rocks,' meaning there's no place to hide. And that might be offensive to some people but don't let your heart be offended. I didn't write it, Jeremiah wrote it. It was the truth and it is the truth. How did it happen? Because God allowed it to happen. Why did it happen? Because God said my top priority for the Jewish people is to get them to come back to the land of Israel."

-John Hagee, before John McCain inferred that he is whacked out.

Part of Hagee's apology:

"I have devoted most of my adult life to ensuring that there will never be a second Holocaust"

**************************************
Unless Hagee has now become an agnostic, what he really is saying in his apology is that God can be stopped. Logical conclusions made from his first statement is that God cannot be stopped ("there's no place to hide"), all God has to do is send down another Hitler("hunter"). But in his apology, he seems to blame the Holocaust on anti-semitism. No anti-semitism, no more Holocausts.
Hagee, has stated before that anti-semitism has been an age old punishment from God, because Jews used to worship idols and because they rejected Jesus. So how does Hagee expect to fight anti-semitism?, or more importantly, by fighting anti-semitism isn't he fighting God's will?

As Edward Current states in one of his latest videos: "If you have to believe one thing when you read one part of the bible, and the opposite when you read another part, so be it"

The whole video (the guy cracks me up):

You know what is great about atheism? There are no contradictions. There isn't anything out there that doesn't have a secular explanation.

The Vatican Acknowledges Life May Exist Elsewhere: The Implications

The Vatican seems to be getting more and more intelligent every day. At least in comparison with the Fundamentalist Baptists, the ones who continually make themselves look foolish by denying the reality of evolution, and in many cases, the real age of the earth and the universe.
The Catholics are embracing science, not fighting it. Maybe they realize that fighting science causes their flock to migrate to agnosticism and atheism. This is something the Baptists fail to grasp, or just willfully ignore.
Kieran Bennett has a post entitled What Works in Deconverting Christians? It is full of deconversion stories.
Jewish Atheist gives a breakdown of why people deconvert:
14.89% Stupid or incoherent answers by religious leaders to simple questions.
14.89% Science contradicted their religious dogma.
12.76% Contradictory dogma.
?% Exposure to atheism. [Kieran seems to have omitted the number here.]
10.63% Reading the Bible.
8.51% Hypocrisy of the Church.
8.51% Prayers went unanswered or person came to believe he was talking to self.
8.5% The existence of other religions.

Back to the Vatican. 'The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, was quoted as saying the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.'
***********************************************
Now time to have fun with the implications:

If intelligent life forms exist in the universe outside earth, does that mean that Jesus visited other planets?

Do these planets have bibles? If so, how many?

How about Catholics, do aliens call themselves Catholics and Protestants?

Are their alien Jehovah Witnesses too? Maybe Jesus was able to convey God's word better with practice. Maybe there is only one Christianity cult/sect on some of the later planets Jesus visited.

Did Jesus die at the cross on these planets, or did he get killed in another manner? Remember Lenny Bruce's quote in the late 50's or early 60's: "If Jesus had been killed twenty years ago, Catholic school children would be wearing little electric chairs around their necks instead of crosses."

Is Jesus going to return to all these planets around the same time for the second coming? Does this mean he will have to clone himself, or is that God's job to clone him?

Kidding aside, the Catholic church is starting to swing away from the need for a Jesus. They are grasping on the need for a creator, but they need to grasp something other than little boys....oh wait, I said kidding aside...

A LOT!!!!!!!!!!

I'm finally snapping in regards to message board posters who have yet to realize that "a lot" is two friggin words. These posters are everywhere, and many seem to have above average intelligent levels as well.

Genesis 1:27; Does God Have An Asshole?

I still don't understand how any grown up person can read a few lines of any bible and not figure out that it is a fairy tale. But the world is full of those who refuse to make that connection.

Still, there are many fundamentalists who swear that man was created in God's image, and in many interpretations, so were women.

Here are a few translations of Genesis 1:27. Of course, God's English isn't exactly perfect:

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

King James Bible
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

American King James Version
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Jewish Publication Society Tanakh
And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.

*********************************************
The anti-evolutionists and other YECs believe there is nothing allegorical about this verse. They "know" evolution can't be true, because he God created he man in he's image (that is my translation). They also "know" that all science that refutes or even attempts to refute Genesis 1:27 is not real science, but feeble attempts to disprove God.

Ok, so then, if man was created in God's image, and that is why evolution is false, then it has to be concluded that God has an asshole. My only question to creationists: Is God's asshole only for show, or does it serve a function?
